Friday Good neighbours fellowship

Good Neighbours’ Fellowship is a meeting primarily for the older person, such as senior citizens, but it is open to any adult person on the first and third Friday afternoons from 2.15 pm to 3.45 pm.

Good neighbours fellowship

The main aim of the meeting is to provide opportunity for older pilgrims to gather and benefit from mutual encouragement on the journey. It also creates an atmosphere where inward yearnings can be shared, help sought in difficult times and support given in confusing circumstances. A friend can clasp the hand of a friend and the burdens peculiar to the people of God are lightened under the comforts of Christ.
Table games such as Scrabble, Dominoes, Rummikub and others are played, which stimulates conversation until 3.00 p.m.  A cup of tea or coffee and biscuits are then enjoyed. If a birthday is celebrated then the person concerned usually provides cake(s).
After refreshments the final 30 minutes is dedicated to the epilogue when minds and hearts are concentrated on the things of God in hymns, prayer, scripture and a Word in season.
On the last Friday in June each year a half -day outing is arranged to places of  interest, which is chosen by the members. In December, usually on the second Friday, Christmas dinner is taken at a local restaurant.
