Monday EVENING Prayer MEETING
” Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us ” 1 John 5 v 14
The church meets for prayer every Monday evening from 7.30 pm. A message is given from the Bible which focusses the hearts and minds of those present onto the prayer concerns for the church. With the help of the Holy Spirit those present pray at the Throne of Grace persistently, with thanksgiving, in faith, within the will of God, for the glory of God and from a heart right with God. We also praise our God in the singing of hymns.
Prayer
In all our prayer meetings we are submissive to the will of the Lord. Prayer includes invocation, adoration, confession, petition, dedication, thanksgiving and blessing. We pray for the Glory of God; the furtherance of the Gospel; the extension of Christ’s kingdom; the conversion of sinners; our rulers and nation; all peoples on earth; peace in the world; the second coming of the Lord; our children and the young;; all in special want, distress, sorrow and temptation; the final perseverance of the saints; the overthrow of error and evil and temporal and spiritual blessings.
Our Lord taught us to pray:
“Our father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.” Matthew 6 v 9-13
